New racing shells find a home at the BRC

Earlier this year we added two new singles and three doubles to the BRC boathouse. The additions were made possible by a generous grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF), an agency of the Government of Ontario, and one of Canada’s leading granting foundations.

We have also added coastal boats to our fleet. These new boats allow us to row on the water in rougher conditions, unlike traditional racing shells. We now have 6 doubles and 6 singles in our coastal boat program.

With more small boats, our athletes and summer program were able to return to the river. In them, they have learned valuable boatmanship skills and developed as rowers.
