The Adult Learn-to-Row program is designed for people who are new to the sport of rowing, or who feel they need a refresher on how to get back in a boat. This program will teach you everything you need to know about safely performing rowing technique, on and off the water, how to prepare for rowing, and correct water-safety practice.
Come join us on the beautiful St. Lawrence River as a member of our Adult Recreational Rowing Program. We are an inclusive group that enjoys time on the water, staying healthy and being part of an active community.
Rowers new to the sport need to enrol in a Learn To Row (LTR) program before joining the seasonal rowing program.
The program runs May, June, July and August and includes coached sessions three times per week: Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6pm, and Saturday mornings at 8am.
Coaching includes orientation to the boathouse and boats, dockside instruction, boat handling and safety procedures. The majority of time is spent on the water with some indoor rowing instruction on the ergs on inclement weather days. While on the water, rowers are accompanied by a coach and safety boats.
The club has a fleet of double and single coastal rowing boats, as well as flatwater racing shells.
