BRC Shines at Nancy Storrs Indoor Rowing Championships

The Brockville Rowing Club (BRC) delivered an outstanding performance at the Nancy Storrs Ontario Indoor Rowing Championships, marking a significant milestone for the club and its athletes.

After sending just seven rowers last year, the club more than tripled its presence this year with 23 athletes competing out of a 48-member squad. The results were impressive: BRC athletes achieved seven top-ten finishes and an incredible 18 personal best performances.

One of the most remarkable moments of the competition came from BRC’s Margaux Coville, who shattered the U13/U15 provincial indoor rowing record by four seconds — an extraordinary accomplishment and a proud moment for the club.

The event also highlighted the growing strength of BRC’s program. Two Grade 11 rowers were approached by Brock University scouts, recognizing the potential of the club’s athletes at the next level. In another historic first for BRC, the club had a U13 male athlete compete at the provincial championships, earning a top-ten finish.

Beyond the results, the BRC crew distinguished itself through exceptional sportsmanship and team spirit, proudly representing the club throughout the event.

The championships, hosted by Ridley College, were once again exceptionally well organized. The volunteers and event staff helped create a fun and welcoming environment that made the experience even more memorable for athletes and coaches alike.
