General Terms and Conditions for Purchases and Registrations

1. General Agreement

By completing a purchase or submitting a registration with the Brockville Rowing Club (BRC), you (the “Customer” or “Registrant”) agree to the following Terms and Conditions. These terms apply to all products, services, and events offered by BRC unless otherwise stated.

2. Registration and Payment

a) Registration or purchase is only confirmed once full payment has been received.

b) All payments must be made through BRC’s designated payment methods or portals. BRC does not accept cash or cheque for online transactions.

c) Participation in events or access to products/services is granted on a first-come, first-served basis where capacity is limited.

3. Refunds and Cancellations

  • BRC reserves the right to cancel or postpone any program, event, or sale due to low enrollment, safety concerns, or unforeseen circumstances. A full refund will be issued in these cases.
  • If a program is interrupted after it begins due to weather, facility issues, or external factors beyond BRC’s control, refunds will not be issued for missed time or days.

4. Participant Eligibility and Conduct

a) Participants must meet any eligibility criteria communicated for the program or service (e.g., age, skill, or safety requirements).

b) Customers must disclose any relevant medical, allergy, or safety-related information during registration.

c) BRC reserves the right to remove any participant from an activity due to misconduct, rule violations, or safety concerns. No refunds will be provided in such cases.

5. Assumption of Risk and Liability Waiver

a) Many BRC programs, including rowing and water-based activities, involve inherent risks such as injury, illness, or environmental hazards.

b) By participating, registrants acknowledge and accept these risks voluntarily, and release BRC, its staff, and volunteers from liability for injuries, losses, or damages.

c) Some offerings may require a separate signed waiver prior to participation.

6. Photography and Media Consent

a) By registering or participating, you consent to the use of photos or video for BRC’s promotional or archival purposes.

b) If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded (or have your child photographed), please contact BRC in writing prior to the activity.

7. Privacy and Data Use

a) BRC collects and stores personal information only for administrative and safety purposes.

b) Information is not shared with third parties unless required for payment processing, safety, or emergency response.

c) BRC complies with applicable Canadian privacy regulations.

8. Agreement to Terms

By completing your transaction, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
